The process of improving and modernising Queen Mary’s Hospital, Sidcup, has continued into the new year with the opening of two refurbished wards by the Leader of Bexley Council, Cllr Ian Clement.Reeves and Chislehurst wards, which have been transformed by Queen Mary’s Sidcup NHS Trust, now offer patients more privacy and are designed to ensure better infection control. The state of the art equipment includes piped oxygen at each bedside.
After the official opening ceremony on Tuesday (9 January), Cllr Clement said: “It is good to see that, despite difficulties in the past, Kate Grimes (the Trust’s Chief Executive) and her team have risen to the challenge – and they can be very proud of what they have achieved.
“I was pleased to open these wards today and I would like to make clear just how much I and the Council support and value our local hospital.”
