All three St Michael’s Ward Councillors attended the opening of the new Community Shop in Hadlow Road on Wednesday afternoon during the St Michael’s ward Have A Say Day (4 April). The shop, a joint investment between London and Quadrant and Bexley Council, was opened by Cllr Katie Perrior, the Cabinet Member for Community Affairs as part of the launch of the local Community Safety Action Zone.
Cllr Matthew Scott said “I am delighted that this excellent facility has been provided for the local community and hope that it is well used. We have worked hard with local residents and the police over the past couple of years to try and help alleviate problems of antisocial behaviour in the Hadlow Road area and will continue to do so”.
Cllr Joe Pollard said ”The shop is another welcome step in tackling crime in the area. The two antisocial behaviour orders granted last year had a good effect, and hope that this development will help residents feel safer in their own neighbourhood”.
