Bexley Conservatives have welcomed a new Councillor to their team following James Spencer’s emphatic win in the Christchurch by-election last Thursday. James won with a majority of over 700 votes as Labour who had been second in the ward at the last Council elections slipped to fourth place.
Bexley Council Leader Teresa O Neill Commented;
“I am delighted to welcome James to the Conservative group and know that he will be a valuable addition to the team.”
The Christchurch by-election was the first chance Bexley residents have had to pass judgement on the Conservative Council since it came to power in 2006 and the result is seen as an endorsement of how the Conservatives have been running Bexley over the last two years.
Cllr O Neill added;
“We can now look forward to James helping us to continue to deliver value for money quality services for all Bexley residents”.
